DevSecOps Engineer

As part of G-Research’s engineering team, you’ll shape the platforms and tools that drive high-impact research — designing systems that scale, accelerate discovery and support innovation across the firm.

Ensuring productivity for delivery teams is equally critical, and security is integrated seamlessly into existing workflows wherever possible.

As part of the DevSecOps team, you will play a key role in supporting engineers and securing applications, infrastructure and services. Your responsibility will be to ensure engineers have everything they need to make security a priority, without compromising on efficiency.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing, implementing and operating security services including PKI, secret management and secure software development lifecycle tools
• Designing, deploying and maintaining secure, scalable and resilient software platforms to meet the security needs of engineering teams
• Troubleshooting and resolving operational issues, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and customers
• Proactively identifying and suggesting improvements to infrastructure, security practices and operational processes

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

• Proficiency in programming with a strong command of at least one language, with Python and C# preferred
• Strong experience with DevOps practices, such as CI/CD pipelines including Jenkins and GitLab, Infrastructure as Code including Terraform and Ansible, and observability tools including Prometheus, ELK and Grafana
• Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration technologies, such as Docker or Kubernetes
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure and Google Cloud
• Solid understanding of Linux environments
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work directly with engineers and stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges
• A quick learner who is proactive, self-motivated and has strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently while being a collaborative team player

• Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)
• Secret management
