Responsibilities
- Directly manage a team of 5 other engineers, including weekly 1:1s, performance reviews, coaching/mentorship, and strategic prioritization
- Mentor up and coming engineers
- Participate and contribute to the code review process
- Participate in the on-call rotation
- Lead team syncs, retrospectives and other team-based ceremonies
- Conduct technical interviews with candidates to help build the Prompt team
- Design, implement, and manage infrastructure for cloud-based platforms using AWS
- Create and automate deployment pipelines using CI/CD tools such as GitLab and GitHub Actions
- Build, maintain, and scale containerized applications with Docker and ECS/Fargate
- Ensure system scalability, availability, and reliability through proactive monitoring and automation
- Troubleshoot issues in both production and development environments
- Work closely with development teams to enhance performance, security, and maintainability
- Manage and optimize infrastructure as code
Requirements
- Experience managing people and projects
- 5+ years of experience in a DevOps or related role
- Expert knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Strong experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, ECS, or Kubernetes
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline design and management
- Hands-on experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, or Grafana
- Expertise in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Go
- Proficiency with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation
- Ability to troubleshoot complex system issues and optimize performance
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
Nice to have
- Experience with database management, including SQL/NoSQL
- Experience with PHP
- Knowledge of security best practices and securing cloud environments
- Previous experience with agile methodologies and working in fast-paced environments
