Purpose
As DevOps Engineer, you are responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of an organization's software development and production systems. In collaboration with developers and operations personnel, duties include continuous integration, monitoring, automation, support for the integration testing framework, and software delivery.
In SITA FOR AIRCRAFT – Engineering and Technology, you will support uptime and availability of production mission-critical customer-facing cloud services across multiple regions. You will contribute to more consistent, automated application service availability and configurations, enhance monitoring, respond to system notifications and alerts, and work to optimize performance, security, and dependability.
Responsibilities
- Implement DevOps practices and encourage Development and Operations team collaboration.
- Participate in end-to-end incident resolution and root cause analysis with functional groups, business units, and vendors.
- Support DevOps applications in accordance with agreed standards and business requirements.
- Establish configuration management, configure application features, implement continuous integration, and use CI/CD DevOps practices.
- Participate in the full lifecycle of small to large projects.
- Ensure integration of requirements reflects system dependencies, applications, and services within and outside SITA For Aircraft and the airline community.
- Provide expert advice and information on accountable products.
- Work in an Agile Scrum team and document technical processes and solutions.
- Define and configure monitoring, respond to alerts and notifications, and support application performance.
- Contribute to capacity, version, and security vulnerability management.
- Provide 24x7 on-call support on a rotating basis, 7 days in a calendar month.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience as an SRE/DevOps Engineer.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes networking or exposure to technologies such as Rancher or Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Hands-on experience administering CI/CD tools such as Bitbucket, Bamboo, Nexus, and Helm.
- Ability to share real-world expertise with internal development teams and integrate into an Agile team.
- Comfortable working with teams from several departments to facilitate project plan execution.
- Familiar with monitoring and analyzing infrastructure performance using tools such as Nagios, New Relic, Perfmon, PerfView, ProcDump, and debugging tools.
- Familiarity with Linux and UNIX systems, such as CentOS and RedHat, and command-line administration using Bash, VIM, and SSH.
- Hands-on experience in configuration management of server farms.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with large-scale databases and distributed technologies such as Kafka and Confluent Platform Kafka.
- Basic programming and scripting skills, preferably C/C++, Java, .NET, Golang, Bash, or shell.
- SRE and Agile methodologies experience.
- B.Tech./B.E. degree in Electronics & Telecomm or Computer Science.
- Demonstrated understanding of ITIL methodologies, with ITIL v3 or v4 certification.
- Degree or equivalent Diploma / Certificate in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or equivalent Telecommunications in-country qualification.
